Here we’re once again. Christmas just around the corner and another new year ahead of us. I’ve been busy all this year editing and writing short stories to put into a single collection. The small publishing company that I’ve had my work published with offered its writers the opportunity to have a single collection published with them.
So this year I’ve been editing thirteen stories in total which works out at a word total of 70k. I also wrote a new story to tie in the cover photo which I hope they will be able to use.
The book will be, hopefully the first of many that will have my name on the cover. I feel my writing has come along way since I started writing to be published in 2002.
At the beginning of this month my husband, Russell, my friend, Ana and I traveled up to London to the launch of the Bridge House Publishing anthology ‘Glitterary ‘. I was lucky enough to have my first sci-fi short story ‘To Wish Upon A Star’ ⭐️ published in book. My husband, friend and I had a lovely meal in the pub before meeting up with the other writers and the publishers, Gill James and Debz Wyatt-Hobbs.
At the launch there was Writers’ Speed dating so we could meet and talk to the other Writers who had work published by the company, as well as readings from the anthology. I was very nervous when I was first asked to do a reading as I’ve never been a person who felt comfortable taking centre stage. Writing for a small publishing company has given me the opportunity to move out of my comfort zone and build my confidence while learning new skills.
When Gill asks for readers I always put my name forwards so that I’m ready for when I have a bestseller on my hands. Who knows I may have to read to a larger audience. 😊📚
Here I am with my dear friends and fellow Bridge House Authors Allison Symes author of ‘From Light to Dark and Back Again’, Dawn Knox author of Extraordinary & The Great War. And me 😊🍷

May I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year in 2018.
