After working hard in the garden at the weekend, I’ve been back at my keyboard working on my short story collection. Yesterday, I stayed focused and worked my way through them.
Today, I finished off the editing and read through the MS. Checked the stories were in the order I wanted them. Checked the page numbers. Moved the Author’s bio to the front of the book. Wrote a short blurb for the back cover, and selected a few images for the cover. The MS is now with the publisher. I’m just hoping everything is okay.
Today I heard from the publisher who has my crime novel ‘Stone Angels’ they said they will be getting back to me very soon. I don’t know whether this is a positive sign or not. As I have been in this position before 37 times, I’m not holding out much hope. Though, deep in my heart I keep praying maybe this time someone will say yes. Tomorrow, I shall finish the editing I started on Stone Angels and cut back the word count further. There are plenty of other publishers who maybe interested once I’ve finished reducing it.
Right, I’m off to bed now. I’m feeling very tired. Have a great evening. See you all tomorrow. Keep safe, and keep your distance ❤️

Fingers crossed for a “yes”!
The butterfly in your garden is so pretty. Nice photo.

Thank you, Ray. Up and busy planning a short story today. I haven’t done any writing for a while, so I thought I would take a short break from editing.

Sounds like a good plan! A writer has to carefully juggle the demands of their productivity and creativity–not always the same things as you know so well! I wish you success and enjoyment in your writing, my dear friend! The editing can wait for a while! 🙂

Your posts are inspiring. My main problem at the moment is in focus – and not just in writing.

I know there’s a lot going on in the world at the moment. I’m following it closely, but I can’t solve the problem by worrying about it. For my own sanity it is best for me to focus on what can make a difference to mine and my husband’s life. I’ve planted my garden up with vegetables and busy with my writing.

I totally agree with you. I am making a concerted effort not to worry. I am so fortunate to have a husband that sees the funny side in most things. And I am making time to write more, especially with an online group which currently is issuing daily flash fiction prompts to work on. I am starting to get my mojo back. But I still find your posts inspiring.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Just keep writing and smiling. We writers are lucky to have an outlet to lose ourselves. Hopefully the silver lining will be new readers will be born out of this terrible situation we’re all in.
