When hobbies become lifesavers. During lockdown my husband’s hobby of repairs bicycles 🚲 and giving them a new life became our life-saver as his hours were cut. His collection of unloved and unwanted bicycles were in high demand as cars left the roads and bicycles reclaimed the streets and lanes. Suddenly family found a new kind of freedom as they all went out cycling together.

Now the streets are alive with traffic once more the demands for bicycles has eased off and my husband sells the odd one or two, but some of the people return to asking for repairs on old bikes or to trade in for an upgrade. At least the bicycles are finding new homes.
So what has this all got to do with marketing books you may be asking. Well, it is an opportunity for me to find a reader. Today, I sold three of my books to this lovely lady when she came to collect a bicycle from my husband. 😊 Of course, I also asked her to review them too, if she enjoyed reading them.

Readers who review are like fairy gold dust, rare and treasured by us writers. You can make a huge difference to the life of our books. 📚📖
You help to make it visible on Amazon, Goodreads and other promotional site. Some site won’t promote our books unless it has a certain number of reviews. 😢
So, please if you are an avid reader and you have access to Amazon, Goodreads or any promotional site, please review the books you have finished reading and have enjoyed. Put a smile on a Writer’s face today.
Thank you.

Hi Paula! You’ll have a review from me for Stone Angels on Amazon as soon as I finish it. I’m really looking forward to reading it! And…tell your husband that my bike is a 1960, black, 3-speed Robin Hood. I ride it 6 miles every day from April into November. He might get a kick out of that 🙂

Tell my husband… he’ll want to come and see it for himself, Jim. One day he came home from work, I was sitting in the living room. He bent to kiss me, and stopped halfway as he caught sight of a bike through the window of the patio. ‘Hello is that a new bike on the patio’
I said, ‘Hello do I need a pair of wheels and a set of handlebars to attract your attention.’
I had moved the bike so the window cleaners could get to the window. We have bikes everywhere at the moment. 🤷♀️🚲😂🤣😂
